Colorado Springs runners James Burns and Katie Rainsberger beat the wind and the competition at the Winter Series III 5-mile race on Saturday near Monument. Both won for the third time in the series, which will finish on Feb. 23 in the Black Forest. Burns, 24, covered the flat out-and-back course in 27 minutes, 5 seconds. Rainsberger clocked 31:52.
