Start of the Classic 10K in Colorado Springs

Josh Eberly, a 32-year-old assistant cross country and track coach at Western State University, charged to the win in the Classic 10K on Saturday, covering the mostly downhill course in 30 minutes, 41 seconds. He had his hands full as A.J. Richmond, 27, of Colorado Springs, finished a few strides behind in 30:44. Andrew Lesser, 23, of Fort Collins was third in 30:46.
In the women's race, Kristen Fryburg-Zaitz, 32, of Broomfield, won in 34:02. Laura Thweatt (24, Boulder) was second in 34:12, followed by Wendy Thomas (34, Windsor, 34:54).
