Matt Carpenter makes the turn in the 2010 Pikes Peak Marathon
Matt Carpenter, 46, of Manitou Springs, tagged the summit of Pikes Peak and headed for the finish line 13.1 miles down the mountain. Carpenter won for the 11th time, finishing in 3:51:34. Daryn Parker of Manitou Springs (at the base of Pikes Peak) placed second in 3:52:57. In the women's race, Keri Nelson of Moab, Utah, took the win in 4:34:26
