Running, Cycling, Hiking and Climbing in the Pikes Peak Region
Pine Creek High School senior Heather Bates crushed her Rocky Mountain State Games record by 33 seconds to win in 17:34. Bates is a two-time Class 4A State 3,200 meter champion. She will compete as a member of the US Junior Mountain Running Team at the world championships on Sept. 2 in Italy.
