Running, Cycling, Hiking and Climbing in the Pikes Peak Region
Connillee Walter, 38, of Colorado Springs, set a new American Discover Trail Half Marathon Record of 1 hour, 27 minutes and 38 seconds on Monday. The mother of five children, Walter said she took a look at her watch as she approached the finish and realized the record was within reach.
"I gave it everything I had," she said.
The old record of 1:28:11 was set by Ashlee Nelson of Colorado Springs in 2008. She was 27 at the time.
