Running, Cycling, Hiking and Climbing in the Pikes Peak Region
Brandy Erholtz raced up the frosty Pikes Peak Highway on a cold-but-beautiful morning to win the Pikes Peak Road Ascent 10K in 49 minutes, 35 seconds. She finished fourth overall behind men's race winner Simon Gutierrez (43:23), Pete Maksimow (second, 44:46) and Gerald Romero (47:43).
Nancy Hobbs of Colorado Springs was second in the women's race (1:00:13), followed by Jennifer Valentine of Boulder (1:00:29). For more video, photos, blogs and stories about running and riding in the Pikes Peak Region, check out http://www.pikespeaksports.us/.
