Ascent Cycling Series No. 2: Start of the Pro/Cat 1 race
It was great to see Russell Finsterwald racing on his native soil Tuesday in the Ascent Cycling Series. The Subaru/Trek pro has raced in Europe this summer but is taking a break to prepare for the USA Mountain Bike National Championships in July. About 120 racers took on a feisty single-track trail and 90 degree temps to race at Palmer Park. It was the second race in the series. This is the start of the Pro/Cat 1 race with lots of fast company, including 24-Hour National Champion Cam Chambers.
