Running, Cycling, Hiking and Climbing in the Pikes Peak Region
About 830 runners braved the chilly temperatures on Sunday, Jan. 1, to race in the Rescue Run 5K and 10K races at Palmer Park. The event was a benefit for El Paso County Search and Rescue.
Dan Castaneda (17:15) and Rochelle Persson (20:19) won the 5K. In the 10K, Pete Maksimow (35:49) and Connilee Walter (43:36) took the 10K titles.
