Running, Cycling, Hiking and Climbing in the Pikes Peak Region
The 2011 Ascent Cycling Series got off to a great start on Saturday as 100 mountain bike riders shrugged off some cold, wet weather to race on Palmer Park's single track trails.
"To get that many riders on a day like today is pretty good," said race director Andy Bohlmann.
And some of sport's royalty stopped by to put in some laps. Jeremy Horgan-Kobelski and Heather Irmiger of the Subaru Trek team - with 13 USA Cycling national championships between them - drove down from Boulder to get in a workout before next week's World Cup race in England.
