Running, Cycling, Hiking and Climbing in the Pikes Peak Region
About 336 cyclists pounced on the pedals Sunday morning in the first Assault on the Peak bike ride to the summit of 14,115-foot Pikes Peak. The riders rolled away from Manitou Springs at 7:30 a.m., beginning a ride that gains 7,815 feet elevation.
The route will take the riders through Manitou Springs to Hwy. 24 where they will ascend to Crystola and the start of the 19-mile Pikes Peak Highway.
