Running, Cycling, Hiking and Climbing in the Pikes Peak Region
A hundred photos from Saturday's Pikes Peak Cycling Hill Climb, a 12.4-mile race on the Pikes Peak Highway. Though the course is not long, it gains 4,700 feet and finishes at the summit of 14,115-foot Pikes Peak. Leroy Popowski of Colorado Springs took the win with a time of 1 hour, 8 minutes, 36.8 seconds. Katie Compton of Colorado Springs won the women's race in 1 hour, 30 minutes, 46.1 seconds.
