2011 Bolder Boulder

Manitou Springs' Peter Maksimow finished 20th in a field of about 50,000 runners on Monday in the 2011 BolderBoulder 10K.
Maksimow turned in a time of 33 minutes, 26.03 seconds on a new course that started on a slight uphill grade.
"I was a little slower this year," Maksimow said. "I was 14 seconds off of last year on the first mile split. But the best part is just coming up here and competing in a great race."
Clerc Koenck of Colorado Springs was the fastest woman from the Pikes Peak Region. She hit the finish line at Folsom Field in 37:07.07.
In the men's elite race, Belete Assefa of Ethiopia won with a time of 29:22.56.
Lineth Chepkirui of Kenya won the women's race in 32:29.79.
The USA men's team of James Carney, Ryan Hall and Aaron Braun finished third to the Ethiopia and Kenya.
Carney, of Boulder, was the first American to finish. He placed fifth in 30:16:15. Hall was seveth in 30:29:33.
The USA women's team of Amy Hastings, Renee Metivier-Baillie and Magdalena Lewy-Boulet was second to Ethiopia.
Hastings, of Mammoth Lakes, Calif., was first across the line for the Americans, placing fourth in 34:19:10.
