The Denver Post is reporting that Versus, the cable network that broadcasts the Tour de France and several other pro cycling races, will also broadcast the Quiznos Pro Challenge race in Colorado this August. This is great news for Colorado cycling fans who will be able to tune in and follow the race as it makes it's way from the Aug. 22 prologue start in Colorado Springs to the final stage in Denver on Aug. 28.
Quiznos co-chairman Shawn Hunter announced last month that the race will be broadcast on "one of the strongest TV platforms in the history of U.S. cycling."
Phil Liggett and Paul Sherwen are the network's top announcing team for pro cycling coverage. There is no word on whether they'd do this broadcast, but it seems likely. They've covered the Tour de France 38 consecutive times.
