The OK Runner store in Oklahoma is asking runners across the southwest to donate new or slightly used running shoes to those who lost everything in the tornado outbreak that raked the Moore, Okla, area on Monday.

From the OK Runner Facebook page: "Shoes will be given to anyone needing comfortable shoes, not just runners. Children’s, women’s and men’s running shoes are needed."

Several Colorado Springs-area businesses are lending a hand. If you would like to make a donation, please drop off your items at any of these locations by noon on Friday.

• Runners Roost, 121 N. Tejon

Tim Bergsten of PikesPeakSports.us and Shawn Finley, longtime runner and race producer, whose hometown is Moore, Okla., will transport the goods to Oklahoma on Saturday.
