20 mile road ride this morning in the wind. Started at my house over by Garden of the Gods, rode up Filmore East to Centennial. Took a left on Centennial and down to Garden of the Gods Rd. Continued on Centennial all the way out to where it turns into Woodmen. It was windy on Centennial. Had a head wind for a few miles there. Once I was on Woodmen, I took it down to a road called Orchard Valley Rd. Orchard Valley is a steep climb that brings you back up to Centennial at about the point that it turns into Woodmen. I then turned south on Centennial and took it to Flying W Ranch Rd. Made a right on Flying W Ranch and climbed up and over down to 30th st. I took 30th St. south to Mesa Rd. Climbed up Mesa and back over to Filmore. Down Filmore and back to my neighborhood.

It was a great ride despite the wind. 20 miles in 1 hour 20 min. Average pace of 15 miles per hour.

I ride something very similar to this as one of my standard rides. I, too, will be heading out east all lot more as I get ready for Kansas. I started yesterday and rode out near the airport and that was windy!

This is my standard ride. I'm not very good at climbing but I do enjoy it and this ride has it's fair share to offer. I've got another ride where I head south and end up either at the zoo or Cheyenne Canyon and then my other standard is the Air Force Academy. I also want to do some rides out East for some long flat miles.

Christi, that's a real nice area. I love riding over there.

I did the ride from centennial at Garden of the Gods up Woodmen and back on Orchard Valley Road. It was a great ride and I'm looking forward to doing it every week! Thanks for posting this.
