Wow. Totally blown away! Here is just a sneak peek of a couple of things that caught my attention at the Winter Outdoor Retailer.

KEEN.WARM Heat Trapolator- can a winter boot be warmer without being bulkier? According to Keen…hells yeah! This honeycomb, lofted insulation works a lot like an attic…the more air there is, the warmer it is! This new design includes three layers of warm wondrous love for your feet. And it makes sense, when you step, your foot is being pressed into the cold, icy ground and if there is no way to trap the heat from your feet…you end up with cold, icy feet, duh! Check out their whole press release here.

Hillsound Trail Crampon- Don’t get me wrong, we loved the Kathoola Penguin Guy, but I was drawn to these by one of our readers and have to say, I like the design a bit better! They include a velcro strap across the top of the foot for added security, and the durable elastic harness is a little bit further up to avoid the snow.

Hi-Tec Liquid Mountaineering- Three words: Walk On Water. Ok, two more…FREAKING AWESOME! Don’t take my word for it, just watch this video.

Osprey Karve 6,11 and 16- My kind of pack! This low profile design is strong enough to carry a snowboard but slim enough to wear while on the lift. For travel, I also dig their Shuttle 32. At 110 liters, it weighs 8lbs 13oz.

Zeal Transend GPS enabled goggles- The world’s FIRST GPS enabled goggle. Ideal for backcountry and training, these polarized and photochromic goggles have built in Recon Instruments GPS software. All controls are located on the goggle itself and the LCD display is inside the lens area. Includes a usb port for easy download of your trip.

180s- Tech Touch gloves and Headphone ear warmers- So far, the only company that can provide a 550 fill in the gloves and still have the tech touch system.

Toughstake- The greatest sand and snow stake. By using its patented DATS (Deep Anchor Tension System), this stake is no joke! They even had a sandbox to test it out in and you could totally see the difference and the quality in the design!

These products are just a sampling of the items we will be testing out for you! Stay tuned for updates! Check out www.upadowna.com for gear/beer reviews, events, PRIZES and more!!
