"Just when I thought I was out….they pull me back in”-Michael Corleone in The Godfather Part III

Hi, my name is Neal and I’m a recovering triathlete. So I thought. 2015 turned into a transitional year for me on the athletic front. I was set to race Ironman Texas a couple of weeks ago but some financial dings made it so Ironman wasn’t in the cards for 2015. I altered my schedule and put some endurance events on my calendar as that’s just a part of what keeps me going. I’ve wanted to do a 100 mile ultramarathon for over 10 years and now seemed to be a good opportunity. There are quite a few in Colorado and they are dirt cheap compared to triathlons. I figured that would be the only goal for 2015 but then I was accepted to the Pikes Peak Sports Triple Crown Runners Team. That changed everything. The 100 miler is still a go but the number one goal for my year is now 2015. Triple crown, 100 miler…I certainly don’t need anything else on the schedule, right? Well, an opportunity has presented itself where I might just yet be doing a triathlon. It’s nothing as long as an Ironman but just enough to pull me back in. I thought I was done with triathlon for the next couple of years but might have a couple more in me yet. Clearly, my recovery is not going so well.
