Foghat had Slow Ride, Eric Clapton is Known as Slowhand...

Foghat had Slow Ride, Eric Clapton is known as Slowhand, Top Gear's James May is called Captain Slow and me, you can call me Slow Fade. It has been almost two weeks since my last blog and I am down two pounds. I feel like I am slowly fading away. This week I finally took my bike out in the sun and felt that familiar comfort of my road bike. Despite what my south-end was telling me, I didn't make any great distances at lunch. I made a 9 and 11 mile ride before I dropped my bike off with my friends at Ascent Cycling to tweak my bike and add brake handles to the horizontal part of the handle bars. I am doing this in case I am to slow getting over my belly to reach the normal brake handles. I had forgotten how hard the seat is on my bike, what it was liked to be dive bombed a half-dozen times by a starling because it didn't have a hawk to pick on, and what it was liked to come close to being hit from a van not paying attention. In other words, it fills good to be back on my bike.

My diet has been fair over the past couple of weeks. I tried Mary's Gone Crackers Organic Wheat-Free, Gluten-Free, Tastes Great Original crackers. I want to like this stuff as well as Triscuits, but my taste buds are not convinced yet. "Is there anybody out there?" (Pink Floyd, Comfortably Numb) who can help me with suggestions for decent tasting healthy food?

Ok, that is not the real thing that bugged me this past two weeks. What is bothering me is that the family noticed that the family cat I don't get along with has lost more weight proportionally than I have. My 15-pound tomcat has lost 25% of his body weight. I on the otherhand have lost 4%. I know he is doing this to spite me.

As far as fat tests go:

1. My bend my neck back to see if a skin fold pops out test - I am happy to say the skin flap has faded away.

2. Thigh Friction Test - My inner thighs are now missing each other. I can ditch the sliding shorts because the thighs are doing a slow fade.

3. Size 34 button test - I am a Blackberry Length away

4. The Volcanic Dome - The volcanic dome that was impeding my vision while trying watch TV on my back, well I can see more of the screen now.

I still leave huge craters in the sand when I go "ho" for volleyballs skinny people find routine. However, I am down 9 pounds since I started, but physically I am slowly fading away.

Weight 236 (down 2 from last week and half) Body Fat 29.8% (down 0.4%) BMI 30.2 (Down 0.6)

P.S. (30.2) According to one website, only 15% of the population for people my age is heavier than I am. Ouch.

Keep it up, Ralph! All good things come to those who are patient :) And yes, the cat is doing it to spite you. That's what cats do best. :)
