Bike-In Movie Night, Thursday, November 4th

November's movie is: Easy Riders (a classic!)

Last month we kicked off the Front Range Bar-B-Que/New Belgium Bike-In Movie Night series and had an awesome showing of riders. 49 people rode to the venue, about 25 went for the social ride @5:30pm and the place was packed.

We showed the indy film The Bicyclists and had a very positive response (even though it has a twist at the end). Many thanks to the husband and wife team of Carl and Sharon Jameson (producer/director) who let us use their film to kick off the series.

On Thursday, November 4th we will be doing it again! This time we'll be much, much darker at 5:30pm but the ride will go on! Please bring helmets and appropriate lighting along with as warm of clothes as needed.

Social ride will depart at 5:30pm, suitable for any kind of bike. We'll cruise to America the Beautiful Park and back, arriving back at FRBBQ by 6:30pm. The movie will begin at 7:00pm.

As a benefit to those who show up early for the ride, the staff at FRBBQ will have you pick out your seat and tag it so that when you get back from the ride, you'll have a nice place to sit. We take care of our riders!

We'll have the Bike Valet set up again so that you won't have to worry about bike parking or safety. This is something that we've done the past year or so in Colorado Springs and it's proven to be a hit. Look for opportunities to assist in the future, especially as Spring rolls around. I can see it being a "hosted" part of the event, your group takes on the Bike Valet parking duties and you can put up some promotional materials and such to expose our riding audience to your non-profit, club or other.

Many thanks to Brian Fortinberry, the owner of Front Range Bar-B-Que for stepping up with his venue to host the Bike-In Movie Night and to Travis Flett, our local New Belgium Beer Ranger for getting our friends at New Belgium on board.

I look forward to seeing many of the PikesPeakSports.us members there. Brave the cold, enjoy the ride! Or just come on out to support our local cycling community and take in a classic film that at least has motorcycles in it!

Cheers and safe pedaling,

Allen Beauchamp
