About

Tim Bergsten created this Ning Network.

Hey everyone!
Thanks again for joining PikesPeakSports.us, the digital stomping ground for the outdoor community. This is your friendly site administrator touching base. We appreciate your interest in the site and we want to be accountable. We’ll try to get a message out to everyone once a week.
By now, you probably all know our goal of creating community by connecting runners and riders, hikers, climbers and those pumping iron at the gyms. We also want to include the businesses, doctors, physical therapists and nutritionists, healthfood stores and those wonderful establishments that have a cold one waiting for us at trail’s end.
Our membership stands at 35. Hits and page views on the site are looking great considering that we’re only 30 days into this project. Thanks for that! And thanks to the many non-members who visited us!
But to reach our goal, we have to grow our membership and build content. That’s where you come in. If you are viewing our site for the first time, please register and become a member. It's free, it's fun and it's all about you and your fun, active lifestyle. Then tell your friends about us...on Facebook, on Twitter, and the old-fashioned way, by talking to them :)
If you can find a few minutes this weekend (or anytime soon) to add a photo or blog post, or to start a discussion in one of the groups, the site will really begin to serve its purpose. Then, click the “Share” link and send your contribution on to Facebook and Twitter. This will help us build momentum. Our desire is to build with you something really cool in the Pikes Peak Region, a way to connect with each other around the activities we’re passionate about. Click here for details on how to use the site.
What could you contribute? Here are some ideas.
Photos of you, your friends and family having fun running, riding, hiking. Killer mountain bike shots are great, but smiling faces after the group run are also awesome. Include a caption that tells us who is in the photo and what's happening (it makes it much more interesting when you do.)
Videos...we’re collecting an excellent library of videos. Please feel free to add them.
A blog about your goals for the year, the physical therapist who put you back on your feet, the 14er you intend to climb, your dance class at the gym, hot yoga, or training for a big race or bike ride.
Events. What are your favorites? Group runs, rides. Classes and workshops. Races and social rides. If you like them, others will be interested as well.
Stories...if you have info to share about an interesting person (and there are a lot of them out there) please do. You may have a race story to share, or a story to tell about your favorite business. Click on the pikespeaksports.us group that fits your theme and then click “Add Discussion” to write the story.

If you have read this far, thank you. But it’s a beautiful day and we all have adventures before us. Go have fun.
Please e-mail pikespeaksports@gmail.com if you have questions.

Happy trails!
