Well, It's Here

This morning I went on my last run before the Pikes Peak Ascent on Saturday. I kept it short (3.5 miles) and somewhat hilly but not technical. My legs are feeling pretty good, and I'm trying to get as much rest as I can and drink lots of water. 

Training the last few weeks has mostly consisted of consistent hilly runs, anywhere from 4 to 9 miles. I also hiked the Devil's Playground trail a few weeks ago, not quite a summit but close. That's a laughable amount of time at altitude…

Summer Roundup!

I'd like to be able to write an inspiring blog post about being super disciplined about training, despite life throwing out everything it has at me to keep me from my runs. I'd like to brag about how lack of sleep, physical exhaustion, and lack of time simply made me even more determined to get out there and get it done. I'd like to tell you that nothing is more important to me than sticking to my training plan and nothing comes between me and my running!

Garden of the Gods 10 Miler Race Report!

Race day always seems to arrive a little quicker than you want them to!

As I mentioned in my previous post, I was not back to running until April, and not ready for any running in the Garden for a few more weeks after that. Definitely not an ideal training plan for the Garden 10-Miler! I did my best though, and got in the Garden about 3 times a week, feeling a little better each time. Comebacks are Slow

It can take a long time to feel on top of your running, and approximately 2 seconds to come crashing down. 

I started this year in the best running shape of my life. I had run regularly all winter, I started running twice a week with the Attack Pack which helped me get stronger on hills, and I was making big goals. My first Moab race, a 30k, was planned for March. I was going to do the Triple Crown Again, and also decided I would go for my first ultra.
