About 100 runners helped bring some Christmas cheer to underprivileged kids in the Pikes Peak Region on Saturday at the Snow Angel 5K and Toy Drive, a benefit run for Marty's Toy Box at Radio KBIQ 102.7. Kyle Heath, who trains in the U.S. Army's World Class Athlete Program, won with the time of 15 minutes, 51 seconds. Gerald Romero was second in 17:09. Megan Dillinger, who ran in the 16-and-under division, won the women's race in 22:08. Jennifer Pettee (23:20) was the second woman to hit the finish.
The runners were given time bonuses for bringing toys, and there was a big collection for children in the Colorado Springs area.
