From Jeff Gallup ... My first try at a video and editing with my new GoPro Hero3 I got for Christmas! Will get better at this eventually :-) I was fortunate enough to be asked to cook for the AdAmAn Club at the summit of Pikes Peak (14,114 ft) on New Years Eve after they completed their ascent and prepared the fireworks show to celebrate the New Year. I ran a time lapse of most of the drive up and took some video up top. My nephew and I provided hot food to refuel the AdAmAn climbers after they reached the top. We were also lucky to have the right conditions to capture the amazingly huge shadow of Pikes Peak stretching out the the Eastern horizon... such a great evening and awesome fireworks show at midnight. While rocket were going up, brightly colored flares were launched downslope to illuminate America's mountain... about 6F around midnight, and gusting winds made it pretty chilly, but it was awesome.
