Matt Carpenter, 47, of Manitou Springs, captured his 12th Pikes Peak Marathon win - and tied the record for consecutive wins (6), pulling away from Daryn Parker on the acent and holding on to win with a time of 3:48:08. Parker, 30, of Manitou, finished in 4:01:46. Bernie Boettchcer, 48, of Silt, finished third in 4:23:07.
In the women's race, JoAnna Masloski, 33, of Highlands Ranch took the win with a time of 5:09:38. Maria Petzold, 29, of Boulder was second in 5:12:07, followed by Andrea Williams of Eldorado Springs in 5:21:10.
