2010 Assault on the Peak Results

VIDEO: Leroy Popowski was the first to top Pikes Peak - on a conventional bike - in the inaugural Assault on the Peak bike ride. "The biggest challenge was up at the top there were a lot of wind gusts. It got pretty cold. You had to ride toward the center line just to make sure you didn't get blown off the road," Popowski said. He tagged the summit in 2 hours, 17 minutes, 28 seconds. There were 337 riders and a variety of bikes. Kyle Hale and Jim Turner of Boulder - riding "electric assist" bikes - were the first to summit in 1:46:59.
