Hi everyone, just moved back to COS after a short absence and I'm curious about different group rides in town. I know about the Sunday rides that meet at Acacia Park, but are there any other rides that meet during the week or on Saturdays? Anyone have any suggestions about which rides to attend/can't miss? Hoping to get in some time on the bike before the weather gets too cold. Thanks!
Hey Evan, there are actually lots of Saturday group rides. 9:15ish at Bicycle Village, 7am at Cafe Velo, 8am Lifetime Fitness (pretty sure you need to be a member tho), and other "shop" rides. Check out http://peakregioncyclist.com for a more comprehensive calendar.
I just wrapped up a Friday evening ride series from Cafe Velo and will pick those back up in the spring when we have more daylight after work.
Welcome back to the Springs!!
Colorado Springs Cycling Club Web Site The Colorado Springs Cycling Club has rides of different types on Monday, Tues. Thurs., Sat. and Sunday, check out the link for the site and look for the Ride Schedule Icon. Welcome Back, ENJOY! :)
Ah thanks for the reminder of those rides...the hard part isn't finding a group ride, it is deciding which one to join! :-)
Coach Drummer, no problemo, IF we lived a lot closer, (ie: we don't own a car), I'd try to make your Friday night rides during the summer months! LOL, although as a "utility/recreation" rider, I may have to make a "auto bungie cord" launcher to hook on to someone! Have a most excellent day! :)
I've thought of such an attachment this morning climbing up north gate this morning! Hope you are able to make it up for a ride eventually. But I understand this town is big enough if you are commuting by bike, some places are just kind of far away!
Great! Thanks for everything; you're right, it doesn't look like finding one is the hard part, just choosing between them. Hopefully I'll see you guys out on one of those rides soon.
Yes, hope to see you on the roads soon, Evan!
