Running, Cycling, Hiking and Climbing in the Pikes Peak Region

This section of the Rock Island Trail at Jefferson Park/Elem. School (Howard St. and RIT) has been totally washed out and is now DEEP sand!! Pls, There's a 1.5 ft. drop on the left side heading EAST so if your riding a "thin tire" road/hybrid bike, my personal recommendation is to, get off and pick up your bike over the wash out! FYI, YMMV

P.S.:  The Trunnel at Circle Drive and the RIT, has been cleared of deep MUD as of today but it's still got "detour" barakades

up and asking you to head over to the "cross-walk" on Circle Drive.  There is heavy asphalt damage on the EAST side of the trunnel where the city is in the process of "repair work", FYI.

It will be nice to see this finally repaired! But not surprised by this damage at all, and the tunnel has been a problem since the day they built it.
