Permalink Reply by Nicole Drummer on February 5, 2011 at 6:48pm Hi James, to add on to what Brian mentioned about endurance rides, I'd recommend back to back long rides on the weekend. You'd also want to ride at different times during the day - morning, afternoon, night to get used to that. That wouldn't have to all be on the same day though. But to bump up total riding time, you could do a few hours in the morning and a few hours later that afternoon/evening. You could also do a long ride that started in the afternoon on Saturday, and then start the Sunday long ride first thing in the morning. (Then eat and sleep the rest of Sunday!) :) Of course if you are doing it solo makes a difference than if you are on a team. And you'll definitely have to have a nutrition plan and test it out during your training rides to make sure it works. Good luck!
